Well a thriller needs to excite the audience, it needs to include tension, suspense and excitement to make a successful thriller. there are many differant types of thrillers and many thrillers also cross into the horror genre. in my opinion a thriller needs to make the audience think and create a large amount of mystery. In my mind a thriller needs to keep the audience on the edge of there seats till the end of the film, i think also it needs to make the audience think about the end and surprise them with a few twists in the story, they need uncertainty an unknown and surprsing ending. A good example of this is a film called 'Devil' right the way through the film we are kept guessing who the bad guy is and at the end it has a twist which no one would expect to happen. this is why i think the film 'Devil' is a succesful thriller which i strongly suggest watching.
