These are some of the ideas for our album covers for our
artist. While designing these we had to take in to account the star image of our
artist and how this related and linked to other album covers from artists in the
same music genre. I found that when looking at similar artists covers they all
related to the science fiction theme, which is what we tried to incorporate with
these designs. Another important element that we had to involve was the star
image, in particular a logo. This relates to the theme of our music video as
well as promotes the star image and is a recognisable symbol.

Feed Me's New Song
The new Feed Me track is very much simillar to our music idea, with a quiet kid at home who decides to become a hero for a day, with a home made costume and silly string to fight off bad guys. The slight differance is that in the video he goes to a party as our video is that he fights bullys at his local school.
Exambles of Album Artwork Close to Our DJ
Scrillex is slightly differant to Strio in the fact that he makes much more aggressive Dub-step. The album artwork however is simmilar to other dubstep/drumstep album covers. This album cover called 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' has a sci-fi feel to it, with futuristic fonts and neon lights to give of almost a 'blade runner' theme feel. The colours and metalic background suggest a robotic almost mechanical style of music. Scrillex has a unique genre of music with very much robotic dubstep this is a link between the artwork and the music. The font is also large and imposing which suggests an aggressive style of music, which Scrillex again conforms too.
Skream's album cover is very much differant to Scrillex, they are still both in the same genre of music but possibly not in the same sub genre which Skream having more rythmm and vocals in his songs. The image is also very differant, it has a younger appeal to it with what looks like a house party of some kind, its very clear who the target audience is, which is the teens to young adults age brackets. The cover is much more grittier and urban, since it has no futuristic or robotic feel it aims towards a working class audience. The font is very bold again which will show the consumer that the music is likely to be loud and aggressive.
This Album cover is unique in most ways because it doesnt have a picture of the artist, it doesnt have many clues into what genre of music that it is, and the character is likely to attract children. The only indications to what music the album presents would be from the record label in the bottom right corner, 'Mau5trap' being on of the leading dance record labels, run by the globally famous 'Deadmau5'. The other indication would be the title, 'Feed me's escape from electric mountain' indicates that since it has 'electric' in it, the music maybe fast and bold. Also the character isn't friendly looking meaning the music will be aggressive and fast.
Animatic to Our Video
This is our animatic for our music video, they are a basic outline drawing of what we want our video to look like. They are a vague idea, which means from this point until the shoot day we can still change it slightly.

Star Image of our DJ 'Strio'
Our DJ 'Strio' will need a star image so that it is easier to aim towards a target audience. Since the song is drumstep it is a small niche genre of music which is aimed towards a young market. On the Jicnars scale, Strio would fall between C2-E. The main scale it would fall into would be E since the genre of music is a young genre. Strio is a young male DJ who will often perform at large festivals such as Creamfields, Tomorrowland and Global Gathering and he will also perform at large clubs in big cities such as Fabric(London) and Gatecrashers (Birmingham). He is also in a lot of advertising meaning that he enjoys the fame and glamour of being a famous DJ. Even though he is an up and coming DJ he still sticks to his youth, by having one of his songs 'Game of Chess' based on bullying and heros vs villians. It also stays close to his youth because it has a comic book theme throughout the music video.
Vals:
Strio will have a number of differant target audiences with 'Experiencers' because his main target audience will be young people between 16-25 who go clubbing and also go to these festivals looking for excitement and these people will hold a rebelious attidude.
Since Strio will attract a young adult audience there is more depth into teenage Vals. Strio's target audience Vals would be a mix of 'Rebels', 'Trendies', and 'Drop-Outs'. The 'Rebels' who want to remake the world in their image will fit into Strio's target audience because his music is agressive and new, meaning that he wants a shift in music popularity, it shows that he wants 'out with the old, and in with the new' music genres. The 'Trendies' will fall into the target audience too because Drumstep has become very popular and is still growing in market size with the age group of 16-25. This means that 'Trendies' will listen and like his music due to its growth in popularity.

Screen Test 'Luca'
Screen Test 'Walter'
We needed to find out if our cast members would be suited to playing the characters needed in the music video. Using a flip camera I have filmed one of the actors, who plays one of the bullys in school. I feel that he plays the right part for this character and the film proves this.

Target Audience for our DJ 'Strio'
The song 'A game of Chess' is a drumstep song which will appeal to a young male audience ranging from 16-25 year old. The music video is sdet in a school which is about bullying and a fight between good and evil, the bullys and the victims. We also have a superhero in the narrative which will appeal to a young audience rather than an older audience. The music video has a comic book theme which reitarates the younger audience.
Nero Target Audience
Nero a similar music genre to Knife Party have slightly differant music ideas, since Nero is just as dark and aggressive but includes more techno than dubstep as Knife Party include much more Dubstep. Nero also go to the same festivals as Knife Party since they share music genre interest. Nero uses a science fiction theme rather than a metal theme and this is one seperation between the two gorups. The music video to their track 'Crush On You' is set in a school and is about relationships between boys and girls. This conforms to the target audience of 16 to 25 year olds.
Target Audience for Knife Party
Knife Party are a young aggressive dubstep/techno group which have become popular in recent years, the members of Knife Party are also members of Pendulum. Knife Party's target audience would be a male with an age range of 16 to 25 year olds, it is aimed at a young adult audience because the genre of music is new and has become popular in recent years. Since it is a new genre of music an older audience won't know who they are and their taste in genre of music would be differant. Knife Party have a large fan base already due to performing at large dance and mainstream festivals which are popular for the younger age adults. The reason they will attract more males is because their music is dark, and the group were originally a metal band, which is why their images and clothing has metal fashion items. Their most famous track 'Internet Friends' is about the use of social networks, and these networking sites have become huge in recent years with the 16 to 25 year age group using these networking sites the most, this is a link to their target audience.

Our Design Set
For our music video we each drew four set designs of what we wanted the studio DJ set to to look like. Although some of our ideas will change, these are some basic sketches of what we want our music video to look like. We have covered the set design of the studio which we will turn in to a DJ set and we have also designed the lighting for the set. We have set out a basic idea of what we want the studio to look like aesthetically. By linking the superhero idea (narrative) with the performance element we decided to have large images of superheroes in the background of the DJ set.

Research for Casting
We needed to find two older women who were capable of being able to travel down for our shoot day, where they would race each other using two mobility scooters, the group and i found this difficult because we needed to find an older woman who could use the mobility scooters but also lives close enough to travel down to Cranleigh, we also needed to find the right price because we have a limited budget for our music video. We looked at a number of different casting agencies such as casting now and Casting Connection where we found two available actors for our music video but we thought that £150 per actor for a day was too expensive but we found another actor but she has yet to reply.
